Wolverines Get Spirited in Plaid for Flannel Day

Before winter break starts, SGA decided to host a pre-winter break spirit week before the year ends. Today was flannel day, and students all over West Potomac arrived at school in their best plaid button downs to show off their school spirit.
“I really like it. It’s comfy, it’s fun. I thought it was cool because I thought it was gonna be all festive this week, but it’s also not,” says freshman Jackie Amacker.
Students found enjoyment in the occasion of dressing like all their friends and classmates, especially in the ever-popular lumberjack-style pattern.
“I think it’s a lot of fun to see a lot everybody dressed up similarly. I was excited because I really like flannel shirts and it gives me another excuse to wear it and have my friends wear it too,” says sophomore John Collins.
Although flannel day was met with an overall positive reaction from students, others only participated because they wanted to be a part of the action, despite personal opinions on fashion choice.
“To be honest, I don’t like flannels,” says junior Christian Perez. “Plaid is not one of my favorite things to wear. But I’m not gonna argue with it because it’s just a school thing. I don’t do plaid.”
The flannel-clad students and teachers have made the countdown to winter break just a little bit more festive.
