West Potomac Flips into a Bronze Medal at Local Gymnastics Competition

On Monday December 9 the West Potomac Gymnastics team faced four tough competitors: Edison, Thomas Jefferson, Yorktown, and McLean, in a tournament style event.

Bella DeMaso, a freshman at West Potomac on the gymnastics team who participated in the tournament.

”In our last competition we didn’t even place,” she said. “I knew we would do something differently this time.”

As the team did not place in the last competition the eleven girl team put the best foot forward and ended up placing third.

“It was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the competition and spending time with my team mates. I am glad we won third. I feel like that would give us a big push to want to be even better than we already are”

At the end of the night, West Potomac went home with a bronze medal

“We are happy about our performance. I can’t wait for the next competition hoping we do better next.”
