Various colleges across the nation are visiting West Po until Wednesday November 5. Though all visits in the Springbank auditorium have passed, there are still many upcoming visits which are located in the career center. Registration for a visit must be done 24 hours before the visit happens, and is open for all Juniors and Seniors through Naviance, a website run by PowerSchool.
Accessing this website can be done by searching “Naviance Student Login Portal” in your browser and following these steps: On the website, it will prompt you to type in your school. Afterwards, select the “student” tab and follow the login instructions. Once logged in, at the top of the website there is a “colleges” tab. Click it and you will be able to register for any of the upcoming visits.
In the roughly 30 minutes they attend, admissions officers explain the application process, what they require, and facts about the school. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and get a better idea of what the school is like.
Ms. Young, West Potomac College and Career Specialist says “Admissions officers that come in are usually the ones reading applications for students from West Potomac, and help students better understand each college. We want to give as many students as possible the opportunity to attend.”
