A new phenomenon has been sprouting out over social media as people are filming themselves standing still. This “Mannequin Challenge” has people standing still in certain poses in order to depict a certain scene. The trending videos are often shown with the song “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd.

Several notable names and celebrities have also partaken in the activity such as Blac Chyna, Britney Spears, Stephen Curry, and many more. This challenge is trending on twitter as more videos are uploaded daily. The videos are most commonly uploaded onto Twitter under the hashtag #MannequinChallenge.

The challenge has also seen some light at West Potomac High School as various groups of students have been attempting it such as the West Potomac Hype Squad at the first playoff game against T.C. Williams. The group managed to organize the student section into staying still for a moment with varying success in order to follow through with the challenge.

The Mannequin challenge was started by Edward H. White high school in Jacksonville Florida on October 12, 2016.
