Women's March Takes D.C.

On January 21st, 2017, the movement known as the Women’s March took to the streets of Washington D.C. as well as cities around the world. The march was previously known as the Women’s March on Washington until it branched out to multiple cities and received a permit to march the day after the inauguration.

 

The March was praised by various celebrities including President Donald J. Trump.

 

 

“It was overall a very positive experience. Everyone was very excited, passionate, and respectful.” said senior Pilar Jimenez.
Several students at West Potomac attended and marched among celebrities including Madonna, Katy Perry, Whoopi Goldberg, and others. A total of 50,000 men, women, and children marched on Saturday to promote women’s rights under a new Presidential Administration.
