Local Spring Break Attractions
If you’re looking for some local attractions to visit during Spring Break, here are some ideas for you.
- Kings Dominion– Kings Dominion is an amusement park near Richmond, VA. This popular amusement park is a great place for thrill seekers of all ages. The Park is known for its many roller coasters and thrilling attractions. It’s a great place to spend your day, especially with family and friends.
- National museum of National History– If you want to explore history over spring break the national museum is a cool place to visit. There are interactive exhibits, such as a butterfly exhibit, as well as areas where you can just read and listen. The National Museum of National History is a perfect place for families and great for when you have friends in town.
- Spy museum– If you have always had an interest in espionage, the spy museum has interactive spy experiences where you can live out your dreams of being an undercover agent. As well as the exhibits, the International Spy museum also has online quests that you can do from the comfort of your own home.
- Madame Tussaud’s– The popular wax museum located in DC is a really cool experience. You can go “meet” anyone famous from George Washington to Zac Efron, but they are wax of course, so don’t fooled when you run into Beyonce.
- Capital wheel – The Capital Wheel is a ferris wheel located in National Harbor and is 180 feet above the Potomac River. The capital wheel is a fun thing to do with a group of friends or your family. The scene of the Potomac River makes the ride even better. If you time it right the sunset can be an unforgettable scenery.
- Busch Gardens– Busch Gardens, another amusement park, is located in Williamsburg. It is a great place for anyone who wants a thrill or for someone who just wants to enjoy a nice ride. As well as rides, Busch Gardens has many shows and attractions to see. Busch Gardens has 35 rides for the younger kids and adults.
- National Aquarium- If you are interested in sea life or just want a cool place to visit, the aquarium is the place for you. The wide range of sea life there is something worth going to Baltimore to see. The aquarium is in a great location, making a day trip worth the while.
- Local Sports Events– Anywhere from pro leagues to little leagues, the many sports teams around here are always playing. The Washington Capitals will have one more home game over spring break before they start playoffs. The Washington Nationals have also recently started up their season. The local major league soccer team, DC United, is also in season. So if you are in need of something to do grab some friends and head out to any of the game.
- Flight– Flight is a trampoline park in Springfield that is a popular place for kids and adults. Many families come here to enjoy the energetic atmosphere. Trampolines cover the inside of flight with various different areas to enjoy. The favorites among these different areas include dodgeball, basketball, and ledges to jump and flip into trampolines.
