Senior Events Schedule

The end to a 13 year journey approaches this year’s West Potomac Seniors. After an unprecedented school year, the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine has made it possible for our seniors to be celebrated the way they deserve.

There will be various festivities all throughout the week, starting tomorrow evening with the Senior Awards Ceremony at 6:00 PM in the Main Gym. Next, on Wednesday morning, West Potomac Seniors will rehearse for the graduation ceremony at Jeffrey C. Dietze Stadium (football field). Following rehearsal, every senior will receive five paper tickets which they can give to their select loved ones who they would like to invite to their graduation ceremony in person.

Lastly, on Thursday morning, the graduation ceremony is set to take place at Jeffrey C. Dietze Stadium. Be aware that parking will be limited, but luckily West Potomac plans to offer shuttle busses at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church and Carl Sandburg Middle School in order to provide additional parking spots. Graduates should arrive at West Potomac by 8:00 AM to prepare for the ceremony, which will begin at 10:00 AM. Each graduate can invite five guests of their choice to view their graduation in person; any loved ones who choose not to go in person or are not invited to go in person can view the ceremony via. live stream using this link.

If the weather does not cooperate on June 3rd, the designated rain date is Saturday, June 5th. The ceremony would still be at the same location (Jeffrey C. Dietze Stadium) but the start time would be moved to 6:00 PM. If it rains on the rain date, the graduation ceremony will be held on the same day and at the same time inside the Main Gym. In this scenario, all graduates will be limited to just two guests instead of five.
