West Po Seniors Gear Up To Vote
Seniors at West Potomac are able to vote in the upcoming general election on November 2nd. Students are given the opportunity to register to vote in their government class. The students will be voting for governor in a race between Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin.
West Potomac Seniors completed a survey through government classes asking about students’ plans to register and vote in the upcoming election. Out of the 160 students who responded, only 37 students are able to register to vote. Out of those 37 students, 75% of them have registered and plan on voting in the Election.
Seniors around the school are excited to have their opinions heard on the ballot. “I find it very important for younger adults to stay involved and be active in politics, I’m thrilled to be able to have my voice heard,” Reid Salley said.
Every vote in the upcoming election will have an impact on the outcome. With the election looming next week, both candidates share a 48.3% (via The Hill) approval rating across Virginia.
