Is it a struggle for you to choose what snack you want after school? During the school day students complete their assignments and typically come home to a lot of school work left to do. A long day of work definitely gets people stressed out and craving a good after school snack. Whether it’s those, golden crispy fries from McDonald’s or a delicious cold smoothie from Tropical Smoothie. There is just something that hits different about a post-school grub.
This daily decision can be more than just a matter of taste; it’s also about the comfort and routine that comes with it. For many students, an after-school snack is a much-needed break between school and the demanding tasks of homework and after-school activities. It’s a moment of personal choice. Plus, it’s an opportunity to socialize with friends at local hangouts, making the snack choice not just about the food, but also about the experience.
We asked some fellow students, “What are the best after school snack spots?” There were many various responses, however there were just a few that really stood out because a lot of the students had the same response to share. Here is a response from Abigail Litton, “I would say Tropical Smoothie, I love my smoothies, they just make me so happy.” said Litton, Junior.
Tropical Smoothie is a great place to go after school if you’re looking for something local and refreshing! They offer a wide variety of smoothies made with fresh fruit, such as strawberries, bananas, mangoes, and pineapples. You can choose smoothies like the “Bahama Mama” or try the “Kiwi Quencher” or the “Mango Magic.” Although don’t worry there are many more options on the menu they provide! They don’t just sell smoothies, they also give you delicious options from Salads to Wraps and Sandwiches. They recently added Acai and Smoothie type bowls at the beginning of this year. Seems as if they were trying to add something new for the new year!
Another tasty spot that was said a lot was Starbucks. “I would say Starbucks is my go to place. I normally get a Strawberry Acai with a Grilled Cheese, it just hits,” said Anna Starr, freshman. Starbucks is a great go to place if you’re looking for something easy and refreshing. Another person who loves Starbucks is freshman Jessica Fultz. She raves about their Chai Tea Latte paired with a Birthday Cake flavored Cake Pop.
According to Fultz, it’s the perfect way to start her day. “I love to order ahead, it’s an easy way not to wait in line and my food is ready once I get there”, she said.
Tropical Smoothie and Starbucks are the go-to spot for students after school–and they are close, just down the hill.. It’s not just about satisfying a Wolvernie’s hunger, it’s about have a bunch of students together, enjoying the moment and catching up with friends.
However, there are also oher places a few students mentioned a bit further from school like South Block, Five Guys, Chipotle, Primos, Honeygrow, Bread and Water and more.
