Ms. Megan Greer is a math teacher that started teaching three years ago, and all three of those years have been at West Po. She loves teaching because she wants to be able to make kids enjoy math and help them master math as a subject. She loves nothing more than seeing people succeed.

Ms. Greer’s favorite subject in school was, well, you guessed it, math. But her main inspiration to become a teacher was one of her high school English teachers. “She made me feel like a person, not a number,” Ms. Greer said.

Ms. Greer changed her career directions midway through school. Ms. Greer majored in math in college and graduated from Penn State University.

She loves going to the gym and plays softball. She has run in half marathons, and is shooting to eventually run a full marathon.

Her favorite food is always hard for her to choose but since she’s from Philadelphia,  she believes “You can’t go wrong with a good Philly cheese steak.”

As much as she wants to see people succeed, she knows that learning math can have its challenges and be daunting. “Math can be scary and overwhelming at first, but if you stick with it and try your hardest, you will succeed,” Ms. Greer said.
