Kong Dog is an exciting new addition to Beacon Center, offering Korean-style corn dogs that have caught the attention of West Po locals. The restaurant serves an affordable menu, with prices ranging from $6 to $9 per corn dog. The variety is impressive, featuring options like mozzarella cheese, chicken sausages, plant-based sausages, and unique toppings such as sweet potato and ramen. They even serve bubble tea (boba) to complement the meal. With its prime location and eye-catching branding, Kong Dog is poised to gain popularity quickly.
You’ve probably noticed its mustard-yellow packaging—bright, bold, and covered in fun cartoons that appeal to younger customers. I recently tried their six-pack with my family, which included options like the Chili Dog and other specialties. While the experience was decent, I’d describe the flavors as hit or miss. Some combinations, like the ramen topping, felt overwhelming and odd to me, though I may just be picky. Out of all the ones I tried, the sweet potato and original corn dogs stood out as the most balanced and enjoyable.
Even though my initial thoughts were mixed, I see a lot of potential for Kong Dog. It has mastered social media marketing and draws people in with its creative presentation and playful aesthetic. These factors help customers overlook some inconsistencies in the food itself, and I respect the effort they’ve put into creating a trendy, fun dining experience. As a new and growing business, Kong Dog has time to improve its menu, and I’m curious to see how it evolves.
