Virginia Hope, a freshman, is very excited for her first year of Journalism. She is hoping to improve her writing skills throughout the year through Journalism. In her free time, she enjoys baking, running, listening to music, and hanging out with friends. Virginia does competitive gymnastics and is hoping to make the West Potomac gymnastics team in the winter.

Up until this year, some of the Virginia Department of Education’s Standards of Learning (SOL) tests were required for students to pass to graduate high school, but the SOL scores didn’t directly affect students’ grades. The above chart shows the recent aggregate reading scores for West Po.
