Ben Morin, Class of 2017- "I guess remember that I used to have a really hard time staying asleep on Christmas. We used to go see my family in Texas, but we don’t anymore, [but] we’re kind of going back to it again, this year it’s just me and my sister so that’s going to different. They do gag gifts. After they do the real stuff, we’ll just have joke gifts and [gifts]that aren’t real. It doesn’t feel like Christmas down there [in Texas because]it’s like 50 degrees. Jessica Ramirez, Class of 2020- "I’m going to Atlanta with my mom…[She] wants to see my uncle [and] I'm going for the first time..everyone [will be] around the tree, singing and dancing. Last year [Christmas was hard for me because] my mom didn’t have enough money to buy presents and everything so we just watched T.V….we weren’t with our [whole] family, it was just us." Welles McHenery, Class of 2020- "We go over to our friend’s house every year for Christmas Eve…to eat dinner and go to church. I think in like 2005…my whole family was sick so our Christmas was like chill [because]…we didn’t really do anything." Lucia Camarillo, Class of 2018- "In my house we tend to stay up till midnight to open our presents. At that time we usually have family over or we call our family overseas, and…we usually have turkey on Christmas. When I was younger my mother was single and it was only her so we didn't have that much family over, so it was only my brothers and my mom and I. [Once] we didn't have Christmas on Christmas, but we had it afterwards. We just made an emphasis on that year—that no matter what day it is, as long as you’re happy and you’re with your family it’s going to be okay. That was the first year we had Christmas with my step-father—At the time he wasn't my step-father…but he became my stepfather…he was in Virginia and we were in North Carolina, and he had to travel to North Carolina to come see us, and that year we had to delay Christmas two days because of traffic."
