Principal Alexander Case and Assistant Principal Michelle Lyttle on Leave
Principal Alexander Case and Assistant Principal Michelle Lyttle have been put on leave, Fairfax County Public Schools confirms. There are no details at the moment, though the county has told local news organizations that it is a “personnel matter.”
In a statement sent home to parents yesterday evening, Region 3 Assistant Superintendent Terry J. Dade said that Assistant Principal Ms. Jessica Statz will serve as the principal designee in Case’s absence.
Statz will remain in this role “until further notice.” For the time being, the Region 3 team will provide “on-site support” for the school’s administration and staff.
“We commend the West Potomac staff for their continued focus on high quality instruction and dedication to our students,” Dade wrote in the email from Monday. “Thank you for your continued support of West Potomac High School.”
Case has been Principal of West Potomac since December 2013, succeeding the late Cliff Hardison. Previously, he was assistant principal. Lyttle was appointed assistant principal in July 2014.
