Beyond the Page Theatre Company’s “Into the Woods” is opening tonight, April 30, at 7 p.m. in the Kolgelman Theatre. Showing dates continue until May 9, on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with matinee and evening performances. This year’s spring musical follows the story of a baker and his wife, who go on a journey through the woods to lift a curse the wicked witch placed on them, with the ultimate goal of having a child. The musical intertwines the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tales, as the baker and his wife encounter many familiar childhood characters. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults, and are available on WestPotomacTheatre.org.
“I play Little Red Riding Hood [in Into the Woods], and everyone should come see it. It has a lot of fun characters that everyone will know. For example, Cinderella, the three pigs, Rapunzel and more,” Sophia Rubinstein, senior, said.
