Until Nov. 7, students can donate books and office supplies by dropping them off in boxes located in the front office, by door 5, or in room 176.
The drive aims to give books to people in need to learn in Africa. The book drive is being run by the UNICEF Club. They are partnering with Books for Africa, the largest shipper of donated books, to help organize the drive.
Books for Africa was founded in 1988. Since then, they have donated over 63 million books to 55 different countries in Africa.
“The club has been sending reminders of the drive on the daily announcements,” Ian Stutzman, the UNICEF club sponsor, said. “We also have been having meetings to discuss the drive, along with other projects we have planned.”
The book drive is accepting all kinds of books that are less than 15 years old. Types of books include children’s books, primary or secondary books and college textbooks. Medical, nursing, technical and science books are taken as well. The drive is also accepting office supplies.
