The JV field hockey team has fought to win six out of the seven games they’ve played this season. Ten players have scored to push the team to victory so far.

“We have a lot of good scorers, and we are a very balanced team,” head coach Anne Stewart said.

Right away, most teammates knew they were going to be a good team.

“After the first few games, I knew we had a really good team, and that T.C. would be the only really tough team,” Stewart said.

Three weeks ago, West Potomac played T. C. Williams for the first time and lost 2-0, but the team has practiced more and more.

“We are really working on our passing and stepping to the ball,” Stewart said.

They still have to play two more games before T.C., but the team is isn’t worried.

“I hate to sound arrogant, but I’m not worried about any other team,” Stewart said.

Despite her confident attitude, Stewart recognizes T.C.’s skill.

“T.C. has a really good program with their freshmen team,” said Stewart.

Most of the teammates had never picked up a stick until this season.

“They are a very hardworking team, they come with a good attitude, and they are always trying in practice,” Stewart said.
