The team has a lot of talented runners,  and one of those runners is senior Aminata Johnson who is committed to run track and cross country at New York University. “The workouts suck, but having such a fun team that we can encourage and joke with helps get through the workouts,” Johnson said. “Running is all about mentality. Your body can handle more than you think, so when the races or workouts get tough it’s all about choosing to win,” Johnson said about her mentality.

Another senior who has had a breakout spring season is senior Taha Ghaith. “Hard work and confidence. All the work I do when no one is watching,” Ghaith said when asked how he has improved. The team has multiple athletes that are qualified for regionals in the 100 meter dash including senior Sammy Opoku. “Having other great runners on the team pushes me to be the best version I can be and makes us better as a team,” Ghaith said.

The team encourages fans to cheer them on while in regionals.
