HLC Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

HLC+Celebrates+Hispanic+Heritage+Month

Have you noticed the positive Spanish messages on the sidewalk? How about the banner outside Door 1? Noticed anything different about the morning announcements? Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15, and the Hispanic Leadership Club has a lineup of plans to celebrate this year.

Homecoming week this year will be closed out with a bang during the pep rally this Friday, the 29th. You might even spot some traditional Hispanic dances out on the football field.

Outside these fun events by the HLC, the Spanish for Careers classes will be holding a Hispanic wax museum on the 12th and 13th of October. Stop by the library during lunch on those days to learn more about historical Hispanic figures!

During the month, we will be seeing more Hispainic heritage related things around the school. Soon there will be a mural where you can all enjoy and take pictures!

There are also more fun events to look forward to throughout the month, like a Loteria Day, a movie night, and a food fundraiser. While these events don’t have dates yet, stay tuned to the hlc.wphs instagram page for more info. Also, email the club’s sponsor, Ms. Rodriguez, at [email protected].

The Hispanic leadership club is really excited to celebrate Hispanic heritage month with many different events and decor as well! We hope to see everyone at the wax museum, pep rally, and the next HLC meeting! Happy Hispainc Heritage month West po!
