This spooky season, a new murder mystery movie has hit theaters. Based on the 1969 novel, “Halloween Party” by Agatha Christie, it is especially thrilling and If you’re looking for suspense and a nail-biting movie, “A Haunting in Venice” is just for you. Agatha Christie is known for her detective novels and was given the name “Queen of Crime.” Given her wise expertise in writing, and director Kenneth Branagh’s already previously renowned movies, the film was bound to be great. In addition, there were actors like Kenneth Branagh, Michelle Yeoh, Tina Fey, and Jammie Dornan.

“A Haunting in Venice” takes place in Venice, Italy, during 1947 when the city is celebrating Halloween. This eerie film has elements of jump scares, super naturalism, and humor. But the movie’s main goal is to solve a murder mystery. In the film, detective Hercule Patriot gets convinced by a fictional author, Ariadne Oliver, to look into a paranormal case involving a psychic. While the detective, Patriot, looks for reasons to prove the psychic is fake, people are dying one by one. Can they figure out who’s the murderer before they all die?

If we were to rate “A Haunting in Venice”, we would give it a whopping four out of five due to strong acting by many characters, and the mystical aspects of it. The reason we didn’t give it five stars is because there is something missing in its humor, and it doesn’t differentiate itself from the other many classic murder mystery movies. like in “Knives Out” there was an outstanding progression or suspense and getting to know the characters better. This movie is exceptionally good but is not the best of the genre that you will see.
