West Potomac Students Go All Out for Ugly Sweater Day

As part of the pre-winter break spirit week, West Potomac students came to school today dressed in their ugliest holiday sweaters. These sweaters ranged from comfy seasonal button downs to shirts that were lit with lights and a jolly old Santa.

“I like this spirit day because it lets me wear my ugly clothes and I like to wear lit up accessories on myself,” explains Sophomore Constance French as she adjusts her lit up holiday necklace.

Compared to the spirit days this past week, many students thought that today’s spirit day definitely took the cake.

“This [spirit day] is really easy because this is actually my Grandma’s sweater and it’s always fun to wear it around because it isn’t something normal,” says junior Charlotte Shannon.
Apart from being one of the most visually uplifting spirit days of the year, Ugly Sweater Day served to remind everyone of the fastly approaching holiday season. With such vibrant attitudes, it seems like Winter Break this year will be a merry occasion!
